What Are Raspberry Ketones?
Raspberry Ketone, 4-(4-hydroxyphenyl) butan-2-one, has already made its way onto the market. Originally raspberry ketones were used mainly in the cosmetic and food industries to impart a characteristic fruity odour to cosmetic and food products. Recently, however, studies have shown that raspberry ketones became most popular for their potential to help with fat loss.
Where Do Raspberry Ketones Come From?
Raspberry ketones are normally extracted from raspberries since their amounts are highest in the fruit. However, extraction of raspberry ketones from raspberries is extremely limited with only about 1-4mg of pure raspberry ketone extracted from a kilogram of fruit. This has made it one of the most expensive compounds to be used industrially. Raspberry ketone contains a substance that is very similar to synephrine. Synephrine is often marketed as a powerful weight loss support supplement and as raspberry ketone resembles synephrine, it has been suggested that it may help support a similar weight-loss effect. How to take L-Carnitine
Dosage ranges between 500mg and 2000mg per day, and this is sufficient to aid fat burning, promote endurance, enhance recovery and benefit from the effects. A lot of research has shown that it is best absorbed when it is taken together with a large dose of carbohydrates - 60-80g. You do NOT need to cycle carnitine.
Best time to take L-Carnitine
L-carnitine is usually taken in two ways depending on the goal, pre-workout to promote fat burning and endurance or post workout to enhance recovery. A good compromise is to split the desired dose into two and take half before and a half after training, making sure to pair it with a source of carbohydrates.
